West Bank is disputed territory. Has been occupied since the Six Day War.

Israel kicked their asses, sustaining just under 1000 dead. The Arabs lost upwards of 15,000.

Apparently when you show your asshole to someone and they pound a ghost pepper coated Uzi up it, you sting for decades afterward and throw international hissies that result in stories like this.

So it'd be like not being able to have an American owned AirBnB in some part of the world that the Germans briefly occupied during WWII. Seems silly.

More like it if Mexico gets squirrely and we hand them their butt on a silver platter, and a bunch of Americans open AirBnB's in TJ.

That makes way less sense. Why wouldn't people be pissed about that?

...that's the point. The West Bank is seen by Arabs as "Arab" territory, despite the fact that it's their own fault they lost it.

Lesson: If you don't want to lose territory, don't attack a country that has a military force with superior tactics and is largely comprised of survivor-targets of one of the most impressive war machines in history. Survivors tend to be zealous.

What's funny about the West Bank is that I believe Israel has more than once offered to give it back to Jordan (from whom they captured it in 1967) and Jordan doesn't want it. I think the same happened with Gaza - they offered it back to Egypt and Egypt said not only no but HELL NO!

It's not about the land, it's about who lives on the land. NOBODY wants the Palestinians. Even their co-religionists consider them to be nothing but trouble makers.

Where is the entrepreneur in this story?
If Air BnB won't list a rental, why doesn't another entity jump in and highlight the listing?
Or, is Air BnB just seeking publicity and the media is there to assist?
Just like a protest of 10 people at the Capitol gets the lead in evening "News" while the majority of people don't agree with whatever the protesters are shouting?

The Jordanians and Egyptians don’t want it back because it prolongs the conflict, which is useful for regional chest pounding.

The “Palestinians” are a fiction. They’re Jordanian, Egyptian, Syrian, etc. Hamas or PLO (can’t recall) said as much. They only exist to serve as a buffer against Israel in the region.

The surrounding nations could have created a "Palestine" out of their existing territory before Israel was even in the picture, but they didn't.

Palestinians could have had their own homeland back in 1948 but they chose to go to war instead.

    They chose poorly.
