Bass Pro probably bought Cabela’s using a loan, and Cabela’s is the collateral for the loan.

Disclaimer: I can't spell.
I haven’t been to Cabelas since the buyout. Used to be a fan but can’t stand the new owners.

I’m still shocked some of you are so passionate about this. Even long before the M&A, I thought they were basically the same thing with very little preference.
Obviously not a golfer.
I pretty much stopped buying from Cabela's regularly long before the Bass Pro buyout. Seems the quality of many of their products went down while prices went up.
I have bought two high-end pair of Leupold binos from them in the last year. Other than that I can't remember the last time I ordered anything from them.

Currently, I have about $300+ in Cabelas points. Perhaps should use them before the firm goes “belly up”. They did recently switch their club cards from Visa to Master Charge.

I went to the Cabelas in sidney once. I walked into the Bass Pro here with a friend once. I find the small shops more interesting.
Cancelled my Cabela's club card after I cashed out the points, literally on the day before the sale was finalized. No more Cabelas for me.
