This is very sad that a sporting industry leader has a lack of basic knowledge of firearms and they are will to show it to everyone.

I agree, much better. Most are enthusiasts. However still retail and once in a while you get a non expert. Not besmirching them just relaying my experience with them. That said, they are the only outdoor store I go to. I like them.

I really like Scheels, just wish that the Johnstown one was not in such a highly taxed enterprise zone.

I wish the sportsmans here was 1/2 the size of the NoCo one. The one here is the size of a Chik-fil-A.

When I was a kid we used to take a couple trips to the Sidney Nebraska store every year. Cabelas used to have some pretty nice name brand euipment, but that was 25 years ago. I have certainly notcied their quality name brand stuff isn't what it used to be. These days we still prefer Sportsmans Warehouse to any of the others since their prices are usually better than most of the other competition. Basspro Shops and Gander Mountain used to be pretty decent as well, but they've all gone down hill.

Same here, but all I've bought from them is reloading supplies. However, they do put items in the store on sale occasionally, so I got a box of Sierra 6mm bullets that would have normally been $20 for $11.99. Looked like they were just getting rid of the last of the inventory. Grabbed the last 2 boxes. Not tried a firearm purchase from them. I go to the one in River Point. Nice store.

Cabela's on the other hand, I only bought a firearm from them once. I only bought it because they had a sale on a Savage rifle that was on a big rebate at the time. Saved $250 between the two. Was the WORST experience of my life. I had already paid and just had to do the transfer. The whole process took nearly 3 hours - the first two of which were waiting for my number to be called. They seem to take a REALLY long time doing their processing and double checking before the backround check is even submitted. Never again.

    My Feedback

Exactly same thing happened to me at bass pro. Waited number to be called. Entire transfer was done around 2hr15mins.

Bought a handgun from the lone tree cabelas, took less than 30 minutes, 3 years ago, from paying, paperwork, BGC to walking out the door. No waiting for numbers to be called.

Bought a rifle from denver bass pro, took about the same amount of time this spring.

Both used an app to fill and sign the bgc form.

Both were on sale, on a weekday after work.
