has the media ever been truthful about anything.

Look at the media today. Almost every story manages to throw Trump in to the narrative, negatively of course.

Donald Trump was responsible for getting her convicted felon relative a pardon. Was that a quid pro quid for Kaynes endorsement, we here at mudslingersnn believe so.

At this point I have exactly zero confidence that the press is capable of reporting anything in a way that meaningfully resembles reality.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

It depends on the topic, if the topic is politics, economics, climate, foreign affairs, the press will lie at every turn to make the president look bad. The other topics we usually get straight reporting.

I think the press was accurate with regards to the Alaskan earthquake though, don't know if they've blamed on global warming yet.

In cases like natural disasters, sure, they get the broad strokes right, though they're often wildly wrong in the first hours/days of such an event.

That said, I had a bit of an epiphany years ago when I realized that every time the press reported on a topic I was even somewhat knowledgeable in, they invariably either got it wrong, or delivered information at such a high level that it wasn't particularly useful.
