    Default Ruger SR9

Looks like a good gun, decent features, great price, any thoughts? Anyone have experience with one? After trigger recall of corse.

I've fired one on a couple of occasions. Not a bad gun, accurate, nice that it has adjustable sights. I think the loaded chamber indicator is pretty hokey. With the new trigger (post recall safe action style) the safety became obsolete in my mind, and during firing sequence, we forgot to take it off, and the gun didn't fire (obviously thats good, means the safety is working, but in a defensive situation, that may have cost us our lives). I wouldn't use it outside of a range gun, certainly not a everyday carry gun. Don't know if they may night sights for it yet, and the mag was difficult to load, don't know how well it broke in. I also didn't like the trigger. I know Glock factory triggers can leave a lot to be desired, but in my opinion, the SR9 was worse. For my bread, I'd get a Glock 17 (should only be about a $60 difference), similar size and weight, same mag capacity (unless you put the extended baseplate on the Glock) more holster/part options and upgrades ect. If money is really a factor though, I think you could make many worse choices than the SR9.

I got one with a Fobus paddle holster and 3 17rd mags NIB for 350.00. Haven't shot it yet, was wondering if I should, or just trade it. I got a ton of 9mm in a trade and didn't have a 9 'til I picked up the Ruger.
