That's one of the things I don't like about the Amigo, so it was a big red flag when I saw that ad for a 2-door. Still probably twice the interior room though. I'm sure I'll end up with a 4-door.
I like timing chains. I've changed a timing belt, buy that's just one more thing I don't have to worry about the previous owner dropping the ball on.

I like the size and that they are basically a 1500, and an SUV. Plus, there are millions of them so parts are available and problems will be well established with quick to find solutions.

From what I understand, the engines have to be able to run at significant RPM for days. I'm not sure about the details.
They do rev nicely with very little vibration.
As I was poking around, the older 5.7l, the 5.3l and 6.0l all use timing chains.
