The most viable explanation is mom, Patsy killed her accidentally after JonBenet wet the bed (which she had a history of doing).

I dont think Burke was involved in her death but likely in the aftermath.

His statement sounds like he would have been close to the family, if that is true then it would be easy to determine if he was in a position to do this.

The fact that he was "called in by the Boulder DA" (Garnett) and the FACT that Garnett kept the Ramsey's out of a Grand Jury investigation makes Smits theory transparent and lack any form of credibility.
