    Default OTA indoor antenna ?

I realized awhile ago that I'm streaming so much that cable tv is not worth the monthly bill. I have one of those RCA square antennas from Walmart in the living room and while it does pretty good I also get some pixellation from time to time. Anyone have a recommendation and first hand experience with a budget minded OTA indoor antenna ? Thanks

We have one that's just okay, I have to put it right up in the window for it to really work well. No deal advice other than my neighbor got one that mounts to the exterior of the house and it supposedly works great.

Afraid I have no other experience with antennas beyond the rabbit ears we had when I was a kid.

I run a mohu leaf (amplified).

I'm 12mi north of Bennett and have fair reception.

I have used the mohu and the amazon basics..both worked well when I had them. Lived in Fort Collins on top of a hill.

Where you're located you really shouldn't have any issues with even a decent performance antenna. My buddy (also a member here) just got an antenna that sucked. I suggested this one which he picked up locally (Best Buy stocks them I believe), installed and had great luck. He attic mounted it which I would also recommend. There's a couple of websites that allow you to enter your address, height of antenna and a few other parameters to give you the best target to aim your antenna to. I would get a quality attic mounted antenna, use those websites to determine where to aim it and you should be good to go for all OTA channels. No need to pay an exhorbitant amount of money to get channels.

I like the one Jer linked to. As he said line of sight is important. A tiny bit of amplification as close to the antenna as is practical, might help. Like 5db-10db ish . I know you wanted an indoor option. If it must be indoors, close to a window.

I have a small one in the attic that works GREAT. I'll dig up a link.

Edit: here's the one I use. It is fantastic. Get tons of channels and the HD picture is better than the Comcast I used to have. We've been on antenna since 2013.

I have this one attic mounted in Castle Rock. Occasionally I get a channel drop out, but not too often. I did add a signal booster-amp in line to help out a bit.

Down here I am pretty much at max range for this antenna....
