I agree. If i boycotted anything, or one that had a left of center agenda. I'd have to sit on the floor of my house, twiddling my thumbs. But i might have to cut the thumbs off, since at some point in time a leftist stopped when we were hitchhiking .

People are literally upset that Benchmade cut up guns and gave money in the past to politicians that supported pro knife laws, some of whom may be full fledged leftists/socialists. In return some folks, (not suggesting any of the fine, upstanding, intelligent people on this forum), are so upset by this they won?t carry, buy, or use knives made by Benchmade, and are willing to destroy the knives they already own. Yet some of the guns destroyed were made by literal communists, (SKS?s and the like). Seems a bit, ironical.

It's Oregon, or Oregone; presume blue until proven otherwise. Lots of other fish in the sea.

I don't search out leftist companies, but if they fall into my lap, there probably is a more conservative one I can choose to patronize.

As an outdoors industry company it is not surprising who they donate to.

As a hunter/outdoorsman and a shooter Both partys are at odds with what I believe. Dems are anti gun and Reps are anti public land. There is a big disconnect in the Republican party when it comes to the outdoors. They play lip service to gun owners and to hunters while at the same time they are for development via gas and oil of many prime hunting areas as well as they are for the transfer of public lands to private owners.

As an outdoors based company their main customer base are outdoorsmen/hunters and as far as what threatens their base goes it would be the loss of public lands and wildlife habitat. Why wouldn?t they have donated to Udall? He was for expanding wilderness areas and conserving the existing public lands.

Republicans need to end their love affair with selling off public lands and get in line with their hunting/outdoorsman base.

Public lands are what make America American in the first place. If you're dumb enough to only value something based on its economics, then you deserve a monarchy to keep you in place.

I agree with you Def90, though not enough to ever vote for a Dem, but I have opposed and chosen not vote for several Reps due to their attacks on public lands and lack of conservation values. A root of conservatism is conserve which demands a respect for and judicious use of the the natural resources that have been created.

I would point out that until recently the Democrat party had a strong environmental segment that generally opposed rapid expansion of our population that puts increased pressure on wild lands. I still have Dem friends, naturalists, hunters and outdoorsmen who are astounded by the current party push to fill the USA with aliens from countries whose cultures lack any environmental or conservation ethics, solely for selfish political gain. And they don't understand the push toward "progressive" Marxism when every Marxist society throughout history has substantially destroyed their natural systems to benefit their states elite party leaders.

I don't know why Benchmade donated to Democrat candidates but I suspect it has nothing to do with any supposed support for public lands.
