There is a big disconnect in the Republican party when it comes to the outdoors. They play lip service to gun owners and to hunters while at the same time they are for development via gas and oil of many prime hunting areas as well as they are for the transfer of public lands to private owners.
As an outdoors based company their main customer base are outdoorsmen/hunters and as far as what threatens their base goes it would be the loss of public lands and wildlife habitat. Why wouldn?t they have donated to Udall? He was for expanding wilderness areas and conserving the existing public lands.
Republicans need to end their love affair with selling off public lands and get in line with their hunting/outdoorsman base.
