Magazine size
I had a local FFL guy say he could sell me 30 round magazines. I?m new to this and just don?t want to get in any trouble. He said there?s no issue with him selling them to me, just that they can?t be transferred. Is that correct? The last thing I need is some sort of firearms charge.
I just want to do what is right. What do you all say? (Just bought my first AR)

Read Colorado revised statute 18-12-301 and 18-12-302 interpret the law how you want or a lawyer

Technically, NO, he can not sell, trade or give them to you. All of those things constitutes a transfer which is currently illegal. To stay within the law, all magazines must not accept, nor be easily modified to accept, more than 15 rounds.

The law says he's wrong, but there are a lot of Coloradoans (including most law enforcement and many FFLs) that don't care.
The rules of this site dictate that nobody here is allowed to encourage you to violate the letter of the law. So take that into consideration when reading the responses.
