My wife and I do not have kids and have a combined extremely comfortable income level.
I?m interested in hearing from anyone that has experience living in Vegas regarding good areas to look in to live and areas to avoid.
I know everyone has an opinion about Vegas, but I would love to hear from anyone that has experience living there.
Front Sight is in Pahrump about an hour west of Vegas. The training is great; their business model can be kind of annoying. If, at some point, you are interested in life memberships that allow you to go to any class, shoot me a PM. My friend has a bunch of them and will sell them to cover the transfer fee and little extra...(edit $125). I don't make it down as much as I would like but I've done the handgun and rifle classes, and they are good. I really enjoyed precision rifle. The end of class tests are difficult, which allow you to move to the more advanced classes.

Boulder City is pretty amazing! I have family there and am there a good amount. You feel far away from the city, but you're not too far to commute. Lots of land to shoot on within 20-30 mins of downtown if you have an off road capable vehicle. Great mountain biking in bootleg canyon, water activities on the lake, and a 1000 yard range at the gun club near town. Pro Gun Club is another good option.

Based on us wandering around Henderson and Boulder city when looking at places to move to. Definitely a nice off road ride. LV is 3-3.5 hrs from us.

Thank you all for the reply’s and good info.
Several of you have PM’ed me and I will reply back to you.
I did find out that my office will be in Summerlin, so I’m going to look at housing there.
I am told that Summerlin is a desirable suburb so I’m pretty happy about that.

Don't move in July. Get your vehicle AC squared away now! It's so F'ing hot here (there too). Good luck!

If you get into Precision Rifle matches we shoot matches near Kingman (2 hours). They are some good options up there too, weather dependent of course.

so it will be a bit longer of a haul from Summerlin and you can really just go shoot out in the desert but the Boulder Rifle Pistol Club is cheap and has a 1000 yard range. Its an awesome range.
