Heard them reporting about it all morning, but no info at the time.

I heard the report several hours ago about injury and they took him to Platte Valley here in Brighton. It probably took some time to inform next of kin.

That's awful. It's especially hazardous out there for the state troopers.

Cops/Cop institutions need to start a safe Cops campaign. There is no excuse for an officer to be any where near traffic, or endangerment.

Use the bull horn, tell the car being pulled over to proceed to a safe(er) place.

Sometime they don't get a choice where they stop. He was helping a disabled motorist when another driver lost control and hit him.

All the most sincere respect to the Trooper and his family, friends, and coworkers. My disdain for shitty, selfish motorists (read general public) is stifled at this point.

The police cannot protect the citizen at this stage of our development, and they cannot even protect themselves in many cases. It is up to the private citizen to protect himself and his family, and this is not only acceptable, but mandatory.
