Question Light weight muzzle brake for AR15

Built a custom light weight AR15 on a provided lower. (for a woman)... Slick side upper, light weight BCG, light weight profile barrel, polymer sights etc.
Currently I have an ALG Sidewinder muzzle brake on it....I feel like I want to go lighter.... the current muzzle brake is 2.2oz... I feel like I can go lighter. However, everything I see that is lightweight is Ti and costs more than I want to put into the rifle. At this point I don't care if its a muzzle brake or just a flash hider - I just want to save some weight out front. For $50 tops..

I would appreciate any ideas from the forum.
    Thanks

p.s. Anyone here know how much the A2 bird cage weighs?

I thought the A2 was pretty light but I might be wrong.

I also thought I had seen some reasonably priced titanium ones somewhere recently. I?ll see if I can find them.

What about just using a thread protector if all you’re concerned is weight?
If the Odds are equal, you're doing it wrong

That is what I was thinking.

the TI birdcage above is probably your best bet for weight vs money.

You say polymer sights so you have a rail on it? Unless you went carbon fiber tube it's usually lighter to do pencil barrel with stripped carbine handguards shave the sling and bayonet lug off the sight base. You can also shave weight going with titanium gas block and or barrel nut.

Battlecomp. Works great and weighs no more than and A2.

PM me if you might want one, I have one sitting in a bag collecting dust.

I thought about just putting a thread protector, but it looks ugly like a....skinny dick or something. The gal is supposedly going to shoot the thing....To be perfectly honest, it may end up having just that..a thread lrotector..

Yes, you are correct, the handguard alone is 14oz I believe...

    Default here is a pic

Here is a pic (bottom of post).... she is still a fat-ass gal (and man, I love those), weighing at 6.70lbs.... so, I guess I didn't really get as light as I wanted. Lightening up the front, in my mind will definitely help the rifle feel more balanced, but on this budget I don't think I can get her to be a true super light, without cutting corners... To get this rifle to 5.5 lbs, I need to invest some serious coin in a carbon fiber hand guard, Ti muzzle device, Ti gas block etc.... not interested, this thing will end up costing too much....
Thank you all for you input for those that gave me some options and some ideas. And they are all good ideas.

p.s. So. at this juncture, I have acquired it but I really don't have room for another one.... So,I am going to post it in the 'for sale' thread, if anyone around here tells me they might be interested.. It will be posted for about 80% of what I have invested in it in terms of parts purchased. If you think you might be interested let me know, I and will post her to the appropriate forum.
    Else, its going on consignment...

    Thanks and all best!
