New Zealand only has relaxed laws in comparison to the totalitarian crackdown CNN would like. They are right in that NZ doesn't require registration of 96% of civilian firearms. What they fail to mention is that those 96% are single shot hunting rifles. NZ has very stringent requirements on anything semi-automatic -- at least, they claimed to when I was there in 2016 -- and they're not keen on civilian ownership of handguns. One thing NZ has that I'd like to see copied in the US is that suppressors are viewed as safety/hygiene items (preserve your hearing and that of others in the outdoors) so are available over the counter without permit or registration (or so I understand).

This was a horrific atrocity, just as any school/church/synagogue etc incident stateside is.

    An observation-
When your people in your "ideology" excel in running amok on a worldwide basis doing terrorist shit, don't be surprised when terrorist shit comes back to bite you in the ass.

?Finally, to create conflict between the two ideologies within the United States on the ownership of firearms in order to further the social, cultural, political and racial divide within the United states. This conflict over the 2nd amendment and the attempted removal of firearms rights will ultimately result in a civil war that will eventually balkanize the US along political, cultural and, most importantly, racial lines.

This balkanization of the US will not only result in the racial separation of the people within the United States ensuring the future of the White race on the North American continent, but also ensuring the death of the ?melting pot? pipe dream.?

    ?
Why did you choose to use firearms?

I could have chosen any weapons or means.A TATP filled rental van. Household flour, a method of dispersion and an ignition source.A ballpeen hammer and a wooden shield.Gas,fire, vehicular attacks, plane attacks, any means were available. I had the will and I had the resources.

I chose firearms for the affect it would have on social discourse, the extra media coverage they would provide and the affect it could have on the politics of United states and thereby the political situation of the world.

The US is torn into many factions by its second amendment, along state, social, cultural and, most importantly, racial lines.

With enough pressure the left wing within the United states will seek to abolish the second amendment, and the right wing within the US will see this as an attack on their very freedom and liberty.

This attempted abolishment of rights by the left will result in a dramatic polarization of the people in the United States and eventually a fracturing of the US along cultural and racial lines.?

When someone on a suicide mission is willing to sacrifice their life in the killing of others, no amount of laws will stop them.

This argument has been used by many to categorize 9/11 as a justifiable response to American foreign policy, and that's just as shitty as this is. These 49 people are not responsible for terrorist acts, nor should they have answer for crimes of others just because they may share a religion.

While i agree with you. Unfortunately the anti-gun movement sees all gun owners as responsible for every shooting. I, you , we, had Zero to do with any shooting, one on one, or mass, ever. YET we as gun owners pay the price for the deeds of the few.

I don't know if anyone else heard this, but I heard on the radio (850 KOA), and maybe saw on foxnews.com that the "authorities" were trying to erase this video from the internet, and were interested in whom was seeking out the video "for like mindedness." (if that is a word.) That scares me more than anything.

I don't disagree, and it sucks, just as it sucks for every other group that gets shit on for the actions of a few. Doesn't help us to do it to others.
