Ugh. Gators are some of the nastiest smelling animals I?ve ever been around.
Good luck getting that smell out of the carpet.

In Marathon, FL, for January enjoying the balmy weather of the Florida Keys.
Today is the coldest day in years - 49 degrees
Of course, the heater is not working in our vacation rental and the service people will be here first thing in the morning.
The shame is that is a new HVAC system that hasn't even been inspected yet.
The Miami news is soliciting pictures of Iguanas falling from trees due to the cold.
Don't hear that in Colorado
My captain is in FL for a meeting/training. I called him yesterday and he was complaining it was in the 40s.
don't forget the falling iguana alert:

An easy feast for the warm blooded critters.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.

The night the iguanas fell: Cold snap chills Florida and now iguana meat is up for sale

The water temperature in Key West is 75.2F
The air temp in Pueblo West is 54.
I wish I was there...

The saga continues on the HVAC system in Marathon.
HVAC Tech looks at circuit breakers (first thing I checked) and the wiring, and says, "This is totally wrong, no wonder you don't have heat"
The installer did not upgrade the wiring when they installed the new system, which requires more amperage and power.
And, this is the coldest couple of days in Marathon in years.
The electricians will be here tomorrow morning to rewire - so, we have to pack everything of ours out of the house and go touring while they descend on the property to rewire.
I had already planned to visit Mother Ocean in Key Largo and help a friend who has his live-aboard tied up in Marathon.
Another "Adventure in Paradise", which is one reason I keep coming back to the Keys
The news station in Miami had to do a spot on the Iguanas. They are not dead when they fall from the trees. One lady threw an apparently frozen to death Iguana in the trash can in her garage. When it got warm enough to move around, it tore up everything it could trying to get out.
I never heard of that in Colorado.
There was a story last year about a guy from a country where they eat iguanas as a delicacy. He was driving and saw many of them in the ground after having fallen out of trees. He picked up something like 12-15 of them and tossed them in his back seat. Needless to say, when they all warmed up and became mobile again while he was driving...he had an issue on his hands.
