You're right. I didn't catch that part when I originally posted about it. Still, pointing out to liberals that "You do realize your Electoral Votes would have gone for Trump if this National Popular Vote compact nonsense goes through" when he wins the national popular vote but loses the popular vote of Colorado will be a useful tool for repealing this nonsense.

With so much of California being rabidly Democratic, Trump would probably still lose the popular vote. Just because one populous state goes really far off the deep-end, going with the popular vote nationally would mean the rest of the country doesn't matter. It would take a big city imposing its will on the rest of the state to a national level.

Backing this concept in any form is playing with fire.

With all of the 'vote harvesting' going on it will be tough. CA turned three seats via 'vote harvesting' and I'm afraid our current overlords are setting Colorado up for the same scheme.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of California (and other deep red state) Republicans that either don't vote because it doesn't matter, or vote to serve some other strategy (A bunch of California Republicans where pushing a scheme to vote for Jill Stein because if the green party got a large enough percentage of the popular vote they would be eligible for federal dollars and thus a bigger thorn in the side of the Democrats down the road).

So if we magically flipped a switch to kill the EC, you can't assume that everyone would still have voted exactly the same as they did and that the totals would be exactly the same.

I was at the Tanner gun show today and there were people there with the petitions. One lady was outside and approached me. I had already signed the petition at Centennial Gun Club, so she chatted with me for a minute. She stated she was surprised at how many people going to the gun show were against putting the NPV up for a state wide vote and expressed frustration over it.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Probably becaue they're afraid that the same idiots who voted the morons into office who thought NPV would be a good idea and pushed it through would vote it into the state constitution.

I was there too today, she told me the same thing-I also signed at CGC. Yesterday they were collecting signatures for the recall against Tom Sullivan. Unfortunately I was not eligible to sign that one.

I'm fully expecting the new (D) SoS to do something along the lines of "Wrong shade of blue ink, 150,000 signatures are invalid" or some crap.
