Default CO National popular vote repeal petition

Thought I would post this up. I was a bit surprised there were not more locations to sign.

This wasn't very well advertised for some reason. This is the first I'd heard of this one. I missed today's, but will have a chance on Thursday, during working hours, at Magnum.

Hopefully to allow the citizens of Colorado to vote against

    SB19-042
    National Popular Vote
Concerning adoption of an agreement among the states to elect the president of the United States by national popular vote.

Polis and Dems signed up on the popular vote compact that when enough states sign on the electoral college is no more. Meaning blue coastal states will from then on decide the US President.

Yet another reason to recall Polis.

Thanks. Sounds like something I don't want.

When Trump wins the popular vote in 2020 (he's more popular now than he was in 2016), but doesn't win the vote in Colorado, yet still ends up with Colorado's electoral votes anyway I'm going to laugh and laugh and laugh. And then we'll see Democrats repeal this shit so fast it'll make your head spin.

While I didn't read the entire bill effects in depth, IIRC it already permits them to cancel it "under limited circumstances", such as when the wrong person gets the popular vote. Of course, for a different "official" reason then that, but yeah, it sounds like they fully intend to have the ability to choose when to cast electorates based on when the "correct" candidate is either Colorado's choice or the popular vote, in essence, entirely circumventing voters - whether nationally popular or not. Gotta love politics.

Colorado dems voted and Polis already signed to join the Popular Vote Pactforegoing the electoral college. This sounds like some kind of recall or initiative to change the law back to the electoral college system for Colorado.
