I signed it yesterday at the PPFC meeting. It puts a question on the ballot if the popular vote should be kept.

It's confusing to read the langage of the petition, because it sounds as if you're signing something to support the popular vote.

So it's not to repeal it per se, it's to keep it. Of couse, a "No" vote would mean to repeal it.

4 hours at the ass end of Colorado Springs during a work day but 2 2-hour sessions in Black Hawk? Who planned these times?

When we did the REcallMORSE campaign, we planned on getting copies of the petitions to gun stores and gun clubs and planned out our signature collection campaign before our clock started with the Secretary of State. Getting people on the outskirts of Territory Days was pretty fruitful -- they need similar public events to get this going. Getting Democrats out to Boulder and Denver counties with the argument about Trump's increasing popularity potentially garnering Colorado electoral votes can also help. We actually got a lot of Dems to sign to recall Morse because of how he pushed to tax marijuana.

I've signed it, there's a LOT of these NPV petitions out there, all over the state. And a LOT of people getting in line to sign petitions to recall Polesmoker when his 1st 6 months are up in July. I believe Galindo too.

There's a large and growing group on Facebook to recall Polis, that's the best source of info for this stuff.

Yes, the recall for Galindo in 50 around Greeley is already in process and she has already thrown the race/LGBT cards out there. Sad defense for her votes. Supposedly recallcolorado.org has two others identified for recall, but I'm not sure where they are with that. The Polis recall effort will be monumental since it will require 630k valid signatures and there are people out there already stating they'll intentionally fill the signature sheets with invalid signatures. At any rate, 630k signatures will be a hard slog in what is essentially 8 weeks. The main Polis recall page is a bit of a general discussion goat rope, but the county pages are a bit more sane.

Yeah, I was misled about it before. I thought it was about the direct popular vote of Colorado's citizens for Colorado's votes, not to give away the delegates to whoever is in the lead nationally. That's fucked up.

Looks like the Democrat governor of Nevada vetoed the stupid National Popular Vote bill that had passed their house/senate.

Only takes effect when states equalling a majority of the electoral vote have adopted it, so it will likely not be in effect in 2020.

Just thinking about this a bit...

If a group of states entered into a private compact that directly challenged the Constitution, Federal authority, and threatened "Constitutional crisis" over our elections that could result in violent conflict, one would have to think carefully about which side he places his name, Democrat or Republican.

Many civil wars in other countries have started over confusion regarding who has lawful authority (elected) in matters authority greatly determine how and who can live. Happening now in Venezuela.

Everyone seems to miss this part. I don't see we'll ever see enough states signing on.

If you don't like the electoral college, follow the process and change the Constitution. This country has gone from being a nation of laws to lunacy.
