A question I have.

How was the gun purchase tracked so fast if it took them so long to find a body. In CO it is noy legal to keep records (except at FFL) of a gun purchase. So, how did they know what gun/where purchased/etc? It seems that they knew she bought a gun, where she bought a gun with their investigative powers, but they couldnt find where the driver dropped her off?

Why didnt they just asked the driver on Monday where he dropped her off?

Either they had a record of the gun purchase, or they used CC info. But if they had CC info, then they knew the driver. And the under-sheriff said she "went dark" and did use phone/CC.

"She went dark," he said. "There was no digital footprint anywhere. No phone. No credit card use. To me, that pointed to a near impossibility that this ill-equipped, 18-year-old teenage woman would fly from sea level in Florida to Colorado and then go up into the mountains with plans to go on a killing spree."


So, if there was no "digital footprint" how did they know she bought a gun.
