That high school was built in 1973. It could just be time to remodel,or rebuild and th district is playing that angle to get funding. Who knows.

    Agree.

I even wonder if they could build at the same site with a different name? It's not like there are options in that part of town for another location but it seems like it would be for the best.

They could turn the current site into a larger memorial by the park.

    Jefferson County

From the news I just heard no the radio, it would have to be approved by taxpayers. The powers that be in JeffCo are trying to make sure the word gets out that these are currently 'just discussions'.

It was pretty heavily renovated after the shooting. The library doesn't even exist anymore where it used to.

District decides not to demolish Columbine High School
The Jefferson County School District has decided against the demolition and replacement of Columbine High School, according to a letter sent to parents by the district superintendent.

“While this concept has supporters and merits, there are also valid concerns that were raised,” Superintendent Jason E. Glass wrote in the letter. "It is clear to me that no consensus direction exists to rebuild the school.”

What an idiotic waste of tax dollars. I went to high school in a school built in 1929 and it was perfectly functional.
