    Default 244 Years Ago...

244 years ago today, the British sent soldiers to round up Colonial supplies, but the people fought back with the Shot Heard 'Round the World.

I asked everyone at my work if they knew what day it was on Friday. Not one did. And they are all the very patriotic sort. Shame. We should spend more time promoting our amazing history. In every venue for all age groups. It's so important.

I lived in Lexington MA for about 10 years in my middle youth. Those in Massachusetts recognize April 19. Surrounding states know about it. Outside of New England, asking about it gets you blank stares. There is a lot of great colonial/revolutionary museums and restored taverns to tour in the Lexington/Concord area.

Thanks for posting this, it led to hours of good reading. Americans may again fight their battles of Lexington, Concord and Bunker Hill but I expect that the number of citizens who have studied American history will be so few as to make fruitless any movement to recover liberty. The evil empires will send their robots to quash and enslave humanity.
