Denver man killed in Sri Lanka hotel explosion during Easter terror attacks

A Denver man who was on a technical educational mission in Columbo, Sri Lanka was one of nearly 300 people killed Sunday in a series of Easter terror bombings at churches and luxury hotels, his employer has confirmed.

Dieter Kowalski, 40, had just arrived at his hotel when he was killed in an explosion, John Fallon, chief executive officer of Pearson, wrote in a Monday news release on Monday.

“We’re angry that a good man, who took simple pleasure in fixing things, has been killed, along with many others, by evil men and women who know only how to destroy,” Fallon wrote.

On Easter Sunday, terrorists ignited nine bombings at churches, luxury hotels, and other sites killing nearly 300 people and wounding hundreds more, the Associated Press reports. It was Sri Lanka’s deadliest violence since a devastating civil war in the South Asian island nation ended a decade ago, the AP says.

Kowalski, a technical engineer, was planning on spending a week in Sri Lanka to troubleshoot technical problems. Pearson is an educational company with 24,000 employees in nearly 60 countries. It provides services and technology to enable personalized learning, according to its website.

“He was excited about the chance to meet again in person, some two and a half years after his last trip, with Sri Lankan colleagues who had become good friends,” Fallon wrote.

Colleagues described how much fun he was to be around, how big-hearted and full-spirited he was, he wrote.

“They tell of a man to whom we could give our ugliest and most challenging of engineering problems, knowing full well that he would jump straight in and help us figure it out,” Fallon said.

“We mourn Dieter deeply today … Let’s remember the love that Dieter had for his family, friends, and colleagues – and the love they had for him. Let’s remember his love of life and his love of solving people’s problems,” Fallon wrote.

The military was given a wider berth to detain and arrest suspects — powers that were used during the civil war but withdrawn when it ended.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said he feared the massacre could unleash instability and he vowed to “vest all necessary powers with the defense forces” to act against those responsible.

Morons don't know that jihadis will use anything as a tool to murder people who don't follow the prophet. If guns are banned jihadis will use knives, they've used cars and trucks in Europe, ISIS used fire and water, etc.

The only thing that will stop this is if we kill so many muslims that they finally get the point and stop on their own. Figure 1.5 billion muslims on the planet, 20% or 300 million are "radicalized", so we're talking about killing at least 300 million muslims. There is only one weapon in the arsenal for that job and we should have used it on 9/12 but Bush the Younger was and still is a pussy, a saudi cocksucker, and muslim sympathizer so here we are.
