    Default 4r100 Transmission rebuild

99 F250 7.3. Needing a trans rebuild (almost 300k on the ticker), starting to get shifting issues. Never done a crate swap, don't know who is better and shipping is high. Any recommended truck trans rebuilders north of Denver? Just looking to drop off the trans itself, I will do the takeout/install.

Tim at Detroit Transmissions does excellent work and he was easy to work with, very straightforward. 303-425-0875

He did the work on our 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, it was expensive $4k including takeout/install but truck has been great ever since.

5235 Sheridan so not north of Denver though.

I used ACE transmission here in Loveland for my 4r100 rebuild. Was right at 4k if I remember correctly. You could also get a transmission from Ford. I know they have a HD version now. Also Zach's Transmission in Longmont was recommended to me from another forum. Lots of options out there all about how much you want to spend. My transmission still runs like a top...no complaints on my end. My EX is chipped and generally always in the high setting.

Go with a factory Ford crate tranny.
They designed it, let them build it.

I don't remember if '99 still had a converter drain plug or not, but your replacement wont. pita.

    Detroit IS good,
Ford re-man is good as well,
We've also had good performance with Jasper products.

And our vehicles get the shit beat out of them 20 hrs. a day ....
