What a great match! I ate shit on the steel stages - crazy how mid-level finishes on the paper stages can be bombed out by messing up the steel standards stage![]()
I know where I need to improve!
Thanks to Sean and the board at BL for organizing.

I shot the 200 yd steel stage in 194 seconds. I skipped the 6" plate off the tires, so had one miss. It's very doable, 3 1/4-3 1/2 MOA target, but it was too difficult for many. We are bumping the target sizes up for the next match. We ran two 10", two 8" and the dreaded 6". Next match we will bump them up to 12", 10", and 8". I may switch it up to 6 shots in 4 positions too.
I think the 6" plate will make an appearance on that stage every once in a while in the future. Makes people practice and sight in their guns.
What I DID see a lot of was paper targets at 5 feet all gut shot. Alpha, Charlies with the holes all in the colon area. OFFSET.... Lot of misses on the head shots too.
A lot of good information for people from the match, close targets and long targets with the same gun. It was humbling/fun for everyone.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Yeah I was in your squad and saw that. My red dot was a Comp M2 so I had a 4 MOA dot, super hard to see the targets :/ I should have started at the closer barricades haha. But switching to a LVPO will allow me to do the Pueblo match as well.
Very excited for next month at Ben Lomond!

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.
For legal reasons, that's a joke.
Really fun match today. Good squad and good stages.
The 200 yard stage was **not** a feeebie for sure. There was some aiming involved.
You know I like my coffee sweet in the morning
and I'm crazy about my tea at night

5 stages, a 200 yard normal format stage, VTAC barricade standards at the 100 yard, and three field courses.
Just so everyone knows what I saw were issues and I'm working on resolving them:
200 yd stage will have bigger steel and be faster to shoot. This is obviously VERY dependent on how well the shooter sights in their gun. I will also be acquiring copious amounts of fluorescent paint to paint the steel with as this appeared to work the best visually.
Stage timers sucked.
Nooks required a signature before they would let the shooter's score be approved. I figured out why and fixed this. Electronic scoring issues are part of the learning curve for me. I'd still be trying to figure out how to post scores if it weren't for Charlene.
I'm working with the BLGC BoD to get rifle racks for the berms. There were rifles sprawled all over the side berms, LOL. This could take some time. We will see.
I'm working on a set of written rules, shamelessly I will be stealing and revising Griswold's rules from Big Ben 3-gun. This is lower on the list of items.
If anyone else has constructive input, shoot me a PM. I'm looking for ideas for different standard stage designs. I'd like to establish about 6 different standards we could run every year.
BTW, July sign up opened at 0800 this morning and there are already 20 shooters signed up. I set it up for 5 stages and 60 shooters. I think people like the format so far.
