    Default Digital Censorship

(Please don't beat me up with nits on the word "Conservative")

We have been discussing how great it would be to have some freedom oriented "Conservative" peer-media/social media platforms to use to avoid the current and coming censorship. If you are unclear on how they operate, here is a good read about the recent revelations...

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/kalevle.../#1d6ff14d65f5

Also note that prior to the admission of Twitter and FB political censorship both companies adamantly denied it. If you look at the TOS you will see, in plain language, that they reserve the right to do this at their sole discretion. This means the way they censor doesn't have to be "fair" or even consistent within their own policies or behavior. They can block a Conservative who posts pictures of an AR-15 for "violence" but they can refuse to block a Lib calling for the death of someone's family (e.g. Dana Loesch).

Undisclosed is how they suspend, block, and ban users who regularly post Conservative views sometimes without explanation and manipulate trends, stats/likes. Matthew Bracken has been banned from FB three times in the last six months! Yes, FB has Bracken under a microscope while ignoring Leftist calls to violence/organizing, child p0rn, and livestreaming of violent crime (FB has had a couple of violent sexual assaults livestreamed now).

If any of you follow Ann Barnhardt's blog, she has a post up today about how her site is blocked from OpenDNS...

    https://www.barnhardt.biz/2018/02/27...kleine-liszte/

Thanks for contacting us. This domain is part of the German Youth Protection domain list which is cultivated and maintained by the German government. You would need to contact the entity within the German Government who maintains the German Youth Protection domain list to have it reviewed/removed.

There is no 1A in Germany. But Germany has added Barnhardt to a list (ironic, eh?). This is the apparatus they have set up to suppress free speech. It is global. DNS blocking is an even higher level of censorship IMHO and no one can argue "their platform, their rules."

This is why I have half-heartedly joked that we should use anti-trust laws to break up some of the existing companies and even seize others for the "common interest." Specifically Twitter who certified in their SEC filing they were a "town square." They have a monopoly and have seized any means of competition.

Before the election of Trump many Libs would have been critical of this censorship but nothing is sacred in the war to stop Literally Hitler. You know those 13 Russian "bots?" Yes, they illegally influenced an election on FB but strategic and systematic censorship is okay as long as the Party benefits.

So while we fight the 2A fight, just know that this is a full court press and there is far more on the line than just bump stocks. If you wonder why so many GOPers are getting squishy on 2A, it's likely because they are paying attention to the socials that present an overwhelming plurality on gun control.

There shouldn't need to be isolated media for different political stances. That sounds like less than freedom.

The owner of the printing press decides what gets printed and how much you will pay to have it printed. Restrictions such as censorship and excessive price create competition.

In a marketplace of ideas, sure. That is what the socials claim to be. They are not.

Did you read the part about the DNS blocking?

    Competition is locked out.

A better analogy... Every printer in town refuses your work because they oppose your views. You decide to open your own shop because you know there is a market for free speech. Cops block access to your shop. No customers can come in to deliver/receive orders. No paper/ink can be delivered.

Why of course you have free speech! Your publications just can't leave the shop.
(No one is taking your 2A rights, you just can't have an AR-15)
(No one is making Christianity illegal, you just can't believe any of that stuff at work)

    Another example is Gab.ai...

It's becoming blatant in Google search results. Any search you do for "Kleck gun study", the first 30 results will be "Kleck gun study discredited"...

Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?

Tell that to Les Fletcher of Plano, TX.
