Congrats to all that are able to, and have retired. Equally as well for those that are also making the later years of mortgage speed up and go away sooner.

I look forward to not having to work until I'm 65, and there are some signs that I may not have to.

Part of the reason for getting out of here soon, is to get into my forever home at a relatively young enough age to still be able to do things and function. Yes, I'll still have to work but then I can still work on the house, bring a paycheck in, and have everything done....so I can chill in 10 yrs from now.

Never saw the growth and housing boom coming on the Front Range. Shoulda planned better !!! Part time jobs in the summer usually keeps the wheels greased.

I bailed 18 months ago at age 64. My trophy wife made it possible by suggesting a 15yr mortgage, and paying extra every month. The only money I'm providing at this time is from side jobs. Eventually I'll start tapping Soc. Sec. and retirement funds, but no need to now, so I don't. No debt is way cool. (Okay, having no kids helped, too.)

    Retirement is heaven.

I'm mentally prepared for retirement. It's the financial part keeping me from it.

Retirement these days isn't what it used to be. Many retirees are finding low-pressure jobs that keep them engaged mentally and socially.

I identify as a 67 year old but Social Security and Medicare still won't give me benefits because I'm in my late 50's.
