Good luck with the move, you won't regret it. We left for Georgia 2 years ago now and couldn't be happier. Could no longer stand the nonsense going on in Colorado and it's only getting worse. I was back there just last week for work and while there are a few things I miss it took me about a day to realize there is no way I could still live there.

It's like the state has been taunting me since I made the decision. Nice, cool days with a consistent breeze...

I've got some friends in Georgia who keep telling me I need to move down there.

Never really considered the deep south before, I'm not a fan of heat or humidity, but at this point, I'm starting to warm up to the idea.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

Been to GA many times. You have to be very careful about the area/county you pick to live in. It's not just politics but corruption that can include LE. I'm sure your friends can set you straight on it all.

I'd have to think carefully about GA. But FL, SC, and even NC all look good to me.

    Consider Huntsville, AL, then.

Good cost of living but pay is same as here in COS.

Tons of clearance related positions there on Redstone and in town.

That might be worth looking in to. If I could make a jump to a career in civil space, I'd be pretty ok with that.

I was born and raised down here in the south so this is really home for me. Heat and humidity would be tough to get used to if you've never lived here but just like the extreme cold you get used to it. You know what I really love about it here (other then the obvious conservative values) is the people. Maybe it's because they are "my" people but I found the majority of Coloradans to just be rude. Maybe not intentional but they just don't take the time to do the little things that matter, like say hello, wave to your neighbor, hold the door for people, say please and thank you.

Now for those that have not grown up or lived here there will be some culture shock but I think would would come to love it.

And we have a Georgia firearm trading forum site that would blow your mind. I've spent way too much on guns since I have been back here Lol
