Officially today is my first day off for two weeks, woohoo. I counted Saturday though since that's when I picked up the new Colt and went to the range lol. I really hate flying so my trips are of the road variety mostly though one of these days I want to go to the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
Up early, met some friends for coffee, then hit the road. Headed out 285 to Pine, then down through Buffalo Creek, Deckers and into Woodland Park. Stopped in Alpine Firearms, had a couple of interesting but high priced items, had lunch at Fiesta Mexicana (chicken chimichanga enchilada style), stopped at Walmart to pick up some .38spl range ammo. Went back to Monument from the Springs and made the mistake of taking 105 into Sedalia hahahaha. Lots and lots of road work (should've checked CDOT's website first). Oh well, no hurry to go anywhere but it did add 45 minutes to the trip.
Picked up a book at the library-Jack Carr's Terminal List for my first "summer reading" book. Got a couple of steaks on the grill, a lady friend will join me when she gets off work. Not sure where I'm heading tomorrow but also have a bit of grandson time scheduled-he's 5 1/2 and his dad is in his second week of leadership school at Ft. Knox right now (promoting from E6 to E7 in the near future) so got some fun stuff planned with him.
Was scheduled to go on the HOG Rocky Mountain Rally in Breckenridge later in the week but changed my mind.
Took this pic on the way down, now I'm glad I changed my mind on selling it hah!
