So one time a few years ago I really screwed up and dropped a ladder on I-25 in traffic. I never posted the video because I can only take so much heat from the internet. Miraculously, no one hit the ladder, or crashed, or died. This screen shot is way more dramatic than the actual video, but it's the best thing captured by the camera by far (because no one got hurt). At the time it happened, I didn't remember much traffic around/behind me, but when I reviewed the video I about pissed down both legs just watching, and that's even after I knew everything turned out okay.

This was actually the first bounce.

That's interesting, because if I would have been running a dash cam over the past 20 years, some of the most exciting footage would have been dodging ladders, usually at night on poorly lit sections of highway.

The most exciting part of the video was of me almost getting rear ended when I stopped to get it out of the highway.

No one ever offers up stories of dropping ladders off of vehicles, but once I was telling my other ladder carrying friends, every single one of them had a similar story of the time they forgot to strap down their ladder. Only every single one of them just pretended they didn't notice and kept driving. I find that irresponsible so I picked mine up. I have good insurance for a reason and thankfully I didn't have to use it that day and it ultimately only cost me the cost of the ladder. I've never been more happy to spend an unplanned $350 in my life. I also quickly found a simple way to make sure that never happens again.

The guy on the motorcycle never even flinched by the way. He looked over like, "Huh, that's a thing that's happening."

Which dash cam are you using? I’ve been looking at them, but so many options out there.

I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 from this thread https://www.ar-15.co/threads/155748-...light=dash+cam.
The video quality is good, but it glitches a lot and drops data. Right now I've figured out that when the camera comes on when I put the key in, once I start the vehicle, the rear dash cam actually locks up and only records sound over a paused rear video. It has options for 1, 2, and 3 minute loops. The truck crashing into the bridge that I posted today was part of a 22 minute video. I had to upload the entire video and cut it down to the relevant minute with YouTubes completely shitty editor. The only thing stopping me from buying a new, better camera is that it's such a pain in the ass to run the cables under the ceiling liner and behind all the interior panels for the rear camera.

My sister once lost a ladder on HWY 50 south of montrose (sat install tech at the time) a VW Bus was behind her and plowed straight over it going 55mph. She immediately pulled over, it (vw bus) slowed down slightly and then accelerate and kept going. They might have been high as hell for the way they acted. Might not have even been sure what they hit

I?m sorry is everyone just going to gloss over the fact I?ve been on this Board almost ten years, longer than I was in the army, and today July 8th, 2019, a date that will live in anonymity, is the first time I?ve ever hear Stu speak?
