    Default Wonder what would happen?

....if a large group of people were to wear MAGA hats while walking Pearl Street Mall in Boulder? Or better yet "Keep America Great" hats - Trumps 202 campaign slogan. How many would be "triggered" by that?

    Fixed it for you.

This hat non-sense is so silly. People on the left WAY exaggerate what the hat is supposed to represent by saying it is racist and all the stuff mentioned in the article. Meanwhile, people on the right wear it just to be an asshole and aggravate and provoke the people on the left. If you're on the left and you say the hat reminds you of racism, you're a liar. If you're on the right and you say you just want to make America great again, you're a liar.

Man, before I get taken to task, what I wrote above can't possibly be true in all situations, as nothing is ever simply black and white.

I listened to a podcast with a Mexican police officer and he was saying that many Mexicans are very conservative Catholics (we already knew that) that actually really like Trump. I thought his take on the wall was mildly interesting as well, but that's a different topic.

When Bill Clinton used the "Make America Great Again" line, nobody complained. Now it's somehow a 'trigger' phrase. SJW/PC Police bullshit.

I was wondering about that myself, but then again, it is politics.
I found it interesting that the new Denver City Council member from Swansea is a Socialist.
She will be the opposing vote on everything that the Council votes on.
    But, that is Denver.

Regarding the article in the OP, I wonder what Professor Omari would have thought of the black guy we had at work. He had several MAGA hats (red, camo, and another one I cannot recall). He had a Trump bobblehead doll on his desk and other pro-Trump items. His manner of dress was of the baggy pants, Timberlands, and jersey shirt variety. He talked like a World Star Hip Hop video. So was it all satire? Nope. He was a legit, hardcore Republican and Trump supporter. I asked him once what his career goals were and he replied, "To make enough money to have my own land that I can shoot all my guns on." Brother from another mother, indeed.

His views, goals, etc. were by no means formed by race as a starting point as far as I could tell. He simply had a different cultural and personal mindset than the one the Left would dictate he should have. To him, someone like Trump and the MAGA slogan were borne from hope. Hope to be successful on his own merits and not the false merit of ones skin color. Was he black? Yes, and proudly so. For every gain of his was a testament to the reality of a great America, where the black dude in baggy pants and Timberlands can overcome the social obstacles foisted upon "his" people by leftist policies. Success was his to gain or lose, and that is a terrifying burden for many young men, regardless of race. He refused to be a victim, and in doing so he learned a lesson that the Left hates:

If he didn't succeed, it was his fault alone.

Dunno where you are now, DJ. But if you are reading this, thank you for being who you are.
