Yep...this one surprised me. I guess he's just not quite bat-shit leftist crazy enough for the democrat base these days.

I think the only reason he threw his hat in the ring as a presidential candidate was to build a campaign funds war chest and build some publicity.

As a relative newcomer-moved almost 36 years ago from Tucson-I am truly disgusted and frustrated by the change in the political climate in this state. Both my sons (the older one has 2 kids with # 3 on the way) live here so moving is not on the table for me. I do not want to just roll over and accept the change but not hopeful for a correction in my lifetime. Truly sad what has happened to this state.

So gear and up support Gardner. We cannot afford for the Dems to take both senatorial seats. Keeping Hick out of that seat is as important as booting Morse was 6 years ago.

I hate to be seen as a pessimist, but... Somebody better snatch Hick up and lock him in their basement til the election's over. That's the only way he's not gonna get elected. 1) He's a democrat in a solidly blue state. 2) Nobody on either side likes Gardner.

Gardner ranks near the bottom of republican senators in voter approval ratings: only 37% of republicans approve of him. Hell...only 37% of democrats disapprove of him.

... and that's the big problem with non-socialists in this state. We let the perfect become the enemy of good enough. There was a lot of wailing and teeth gnashing about the Establishment putting Ken Buck up because he wasn't conservative enough for some (a lot of?) people ... so instead, we got the Democrat who CLEARLY was less conservative. In the meantime, as much as the Leftists whine about someone not being liberal enough, they rally up and keep voting solidly for Hickenlooper, Bennet, etc.

I don't disagree with that at all. Conservatives in general are a pain in the ass this way...always demanding the perfect candidate when they know damn well s/he doesn't exist.

Don't get me wrong. It's gonna be a shame when Gardner loses the seat to Hick just because that's one more communist sympathizer in the senate. Gardner's a panty waist but he isn't a full-blown socialist.
