Want to take some kids fishing

I want to take my kid and my nephews fishing before summer is over. Any nice pond/lakes we can catch bluegill/sun fish? Or even some catfish will be fun.

Monument lake has sunfish, but it’s a bit of a drive for you probably. It’s a tiny little lake too. Probably something nicer that’s closer to you.

Aurora reservoir with a worm or powerbait on the bottom is your best bet this time of year. Fishing will pick up in about 4 weeks.

Quincy Resevoir would be my typical answer but city of Aurora closed it recently due to toxic algae.

If willing to travel couple hours or want to camp couple days then head north to Ft Collins, west over Cameron pass to State Forest state park. Many choices to fish less than 30 minutes from Moose visitor center.

Ranger Lakes - Mrs bo "owns" these lakes this year, usually limits out between 10 & noon each day.
