I was hoping the next civil war would wait until I was free from this mortal coil...

That's looking a lot less likely in the last few months...

This article was on Truth About Guns, there is more to it, it is DOJ trying to find out who is illegally exporting the ATN thermal and night-vision scopes (ITAR violators) outside of the US, they want the records of the app users name and IP address to see where they are at in the world, so they can trace back to see how they got the scope outside the US.

Um, no. Please fight this apple and Google. The guberment gas no right to this information freely. Make them go to court and gave a judge rule on their lack of authority.

Tracking guns didn't work for Fast and Furious...and those assholes had all of the info. Where's the "national scope registry"? If there's no continuous chain of custody for those scopes, their excuse stinks to high heaven.

Both are American companies that have rights. Our corrupt government must follow the constitution to get info from American companies. No American company should freely give up or comply with warrantless requests. Make the guberment follow proper legal channels to get what it wants.

Blocking non citizens from entering this country is completely different, which is what the quote you posted was about.

    From ATN

    ATN
    5 hrs ?
American Technologies Network Corp. (“ATN”) today learned of the possible existence of a federal order issued to Apple and Google to provide usernames regarding one of our products, the ATN Obsidian 4. ATN was unaware of these allegations until the publication of a Forbes magazine article entitled, “Exclusive: Feds Order Apple And Google To Hand Over Names Of 10,000+ Users Of A Gun Scope App”.

ATN has not been contacted by the Department of Justice, Apple, or Google. ATN will protect its customers and their identifying data to the absolute extent possible under U.S. law. And, it will not provide any information regarding the identity of our customers to any third party unless specifically required by law.
