Here in the Springs, full auto is a no-go at Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex near Ft Carson, last I checked. When I go out for happy fun switch shooting, it's been to Dragonman's out east, or on public lands in the National Forest out by Woodland Park.

Magnum Shooting Ctr at Northgate rents some full auto stuff, but would only allow full members to shoot their own full autos, and only by special appointment, while I was still a member there.

Isaak Walton doesn't allow full auto.

Frontier Sportsman's Club allowed it at their Fountain range, but not the Falcon range last I checked.

Not sure what Whistling Pines does, but you have to be a member or guest there, if not attending an organized competition.

Thank you Sir, I appreciate your help. I will be sending in a application to the Frontier Sportsmans Club as shooting a tripod mounted Mg34 would be a bit much for a indoor range.

Do yourself a favor and stay TF away from Dragonman's as far as you can.

I've been going there for 20 years. Mel and I are acquaintances, and I've known his family pretty well over the years.

I'll go there when I want to go there, but thanks for your concern.

    YMMV

I was warning the new guy. Everyone else knows better. Very unsafe place to go shoot.

I have heard some not so good things about that range, hopefully not unfair to the owner. I've been extremely lucky considering my career choices and would prefer not to push my luck anymore. I will choose elsewhere.

Thanks to all those who have been so welcoming, the responses make me look forward to shooting and gun collecting with such a friendly group of people.

Just as a heads-up, if you get your application in to Frontier Sportsman's Club now, you'd be lucky to get approved in the next round of new memberships (should be in March). They've had quite a few military members move away so more open slots have been available than usual. If this isn't the case next year, you should definitely be offered a slot in 2021.

    There are 3 reasons I avoid DragonMan's:
    3. Unprofessional Employees. I've had undeserved hateful attitudes from employees on the range as I collect my own brass. I even had 1 RSO insist he needed to shoot my wife's new handgun--even before she got to shoot it (I didn't allow it).
    2. Hot brass. The lanes are so close that I am constantly bombarded with hot brass in my face, down my shirt and across my torso when anyone is to my left.
    1. Dangerous clientele. It would be easier for me to count the times I wasn't flagged by a "guests" loaded weapon than for me to count the times that I was. I don't have a great life, but I do like living.
