Does anyone know if Golden Gun Club on Watkins Road is accepting memberships for rifle and pistol? Also what are good outdoor ranges?
    Thank You

Looks like they accept them all the time. The only people I know that used to be members was long ago, they moved out of the area.

I prefer Lead Valley range... about 50 mins east, but worth it for me. Give them a visit and see if it is for you.

Don't they have some annual Top Shot kind of shoot for members? I think my neighbors' are members there.

Yes. When I was member it was basically a 3 gun match, usually challenged fundamentals. Fun match, good time with fellow members.

Lead Valley regularly had "club" events, the annual pumpkin shoot was a good time, poker shoot couple times a year, member appreciation BBQ.

I always got very good service as a member at Lead Valley.

Golden Gun Club doesn't sit right with me. I dont have any experience with the facility itself, but the range parallel to the road, and not far off, coupled with the houses at the end of the range...

    Just seems sketchy.

Still that way. Family owned and operated, private berms, and always happy to see you. And yes they still have all the "club" events + they added (During the winter months) Wednesday night Trap under the lights...what a blast that is.

    Just to quantify that.
It does parallel the road that runs north and south and the rifle/pistol range is ~700 yards west of the road.
The rifle range runs south to north with the last berm 500 yards out.
The nearest house north and slightly east of the rifle range is 2100 yards past the last berm.
    As measured on Google Earth.

I'm aware of the relative distances, I live out here and drive past the range regularly. I sure as hell wouldn't buy that house.

Guess I'm used to shooting on land with nothing but oil fixtures for 4 miles downrange.
