DirecTV equipment

I ditched Direct a couple years ago. I still have set top boxes and DVR boxes (actually including 1 of each still in box - they overnights me equip, but installer used stuff off his truck).

Is this of any value to anyone (should I harvest drives or memory), or should I just drop in electronics recycle?

It seems like we still have one or two direct employees on here.

DVRs are R16-300 x3 (2 were in service, one is in box that I opened for the remote)
Box is D12-500 x1(still sealed in box)
D12-700 ?1

I will add that all equipment is circa 2010-ish.

As an aside, I still have my original receiver that I bought as a refurb off a gray-market site about 20+ yrs ago. I guess I'm a bit of a pack rat. That one is RCA branded. Heady times back then

When I cut off the Dish I asked about returning equipment and they guy told me all of it was out of date. When I asked Comcast about upgrading I was told they didn't even have my internet package anymore. Guess I need to update more often hahaha

You and me both. The first time I upgraded, the tech was surprised that my original RCA box still worked.

If there is no use or salvage for this stuff, it goes in the electronics recycle hopper at work in one week.

Just went thru this. DVR had a small 256meg drive inside, not worth the effort. Some decent PS boards for projects there if that floats your boat.

Equipment is useless.. Bestbuy takes electronic gear (other than large TVs which they may charge a fee for) for free.
