RTD started cutting back routes/services today. If that's the decision make sure she and her friends will be able to get back. If parking at the Pepsi Center, get there early and be prepared to leave late.

This. I hate crowds, but there's always so many freakin' people there I've never felt unsafe.

I'd be more worried about the light rail parking lots than the Pepsi Center. Those parking lots are FAR sketchier IMO.....

FYI-When we went to the Stones in August we took the light rail from Westminster and they had quit running back to Westminster when we go out of the concert

I just pay to park close to a venue. If the parking is what kills you then concerts probably aren’t the right hobby. I feel Pepsi is one of the less sketchy places to go. Only time I did t park close was when we went to Metallica in Tulsa and didn’t have a car. Walk for 12 blocks before the crowd thinned enough to get an Uber Ps I do hate crowds also but just like safety you got to give up some things to get some things in life

Check schedules, light rail has been cut back at night. Hampden and I25 is a fairly safe lot that gets trains later at night.

In my limited experience taking light rail is great alternative to the Pepsi Center.

Park & ride lots are fine. I've never had issue. SA is important though.

Heads up going south. Don't get on the wrong train (H line/Peoria) that turns on 225 rather than continuing on i25 south. It's a waste land & few services, especially at night. Otherwise gtg.

Wife and I went to Pepsi Center last night for a ball game (free tickets). We took an Uber (planning to have a beer). As we were herded in the door, we saw the metal detectors I had forgotten about from this thread. Granted, I wasn’t carrying (again, beer), but I realized I had my favorite Benchmade auto in my pocket. I’m not going to post ways to defeat their system, but it was ridiculously easy. Even more ridiculous, my wife set off the metal detector, due to lots of hardware in her leg. The security guy just looked bewildered, made her go through again (same results). He consulted his supervisor, and they both just looked at her, befuddled. The wand beeped like mad over her leg, but there was no pat down. The pants she was wearing were loose, and could have easily hidden a handgun. The officers just kept looking at each other, as if they had never considered what to do if a detector alarmed. Finally I asked “are we good?”, and they just shrugged and let us in. Most impressive.

Security theater at its finest. The only saving grace is that once inside, there are usually enough LEO to put the kibosh on anything pretty quick.

I?ve been down to the Pepsi center three times recently.

Drove twice and parked at the center ($20) with no issues. Took the light rail the third time and that?s really the easy way to go.

When I drove and parked we went about three hours before the event and got great parking spots. We parked, walked a couple of blocks for food and drinks, then walked back for the event. When the event ended we were parked so close that getting out of the lot was easy.

I still found the light rail really convenient. Can?t wait for them to start running it to the north end of town soon.

This ^^ get there early, park up front, walk across Speer and head to an endless number of places to get dinner and a drink or two before the show. The guys talking about muggings and everything else must live in a different universe than I do, I'm downtown all the time and have had zero run ins with anyone outside of homeless guys asking for change.
