    Default New member introduction

    Hello Everyone,

I am not quite sure what to post as an intro but here goes. I am a retired psychologist, having worked about an equal amount as an emergency services clinician and with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. I am an NRA certified firearms instructor and Safety Officer. I have been shooting a rifle since I was four years old when my grandmother took me out with a Steven?s Favorite 1915 model rolling block single shot .22 cal. Currently I own three full size AR’s, one AR Pistol, and my favorite, an MPX PCC. I am a member at two gun clubs, one indoor and one outdoor. I try to get to one or the other at least three times a week. Two of my AR’s are Double Diamond brand, a Colorado manufacturer that built top shelf rifles. For some reason the company went away and I have been unable to locate the original owner in order to obtain more information about the rifles. I believe that I may have the last two that were made, one in black and one with a very unique camouflage pattern that is not painted but bonded to the metal. The finish is supposed to be tougher than mil spec finishes. We shall see. At any rate both of the Double D’s can produce sub moa groups at 100 yards. I look forward to getting to know other members, and to learn from others experience and knowledge.

Didn't the owner of Double D's used to post here? Pretty sure we know who you're talking about.

    Default Double D

    Hi,
I would like to know more about the rifles in general as I did not receive an owners manual with either. It kinda seemed liked the shipping boxes had been opened and items removed. What little information I found on the Leonidas model indicated that it utilized a proprietary bolt carrier group that was zinc plated. When disassembled I found a BCM bcg. ??? The other rifle is an SSTF model and has a bcg stamped with double D but is not is not zinc plated. I believe that the only difference between the two rifles is the camouflage coating on the Leonidas. I would also like to know more about the barrels. I?d love to hear from you if you know anything about the rifles as what information I have been able to find looks like it might have been a page from the original website and contains only limited information about specific rifles.
