I never understood why people blurred out that info. I've done, but just because other people were doing it. I liked the article on TFB about why they don't bother blurring out the serial numbers. Never really made sense to me.

They aren't neccessarily targeting firearms serial numbers specifically, they are simply reading any identifiable text in any photo in order to make search more relevant.
That said.. whatever you choose to put on the internet will remain a permanent searchable record.
