Local place to sell my Halon fire extinguishers?

I can ship them off to distant buyers, but I'd rather sell locally. Does anyone know of anywhere in the metro area where I can sell a couple of my 13-lb Halon 1211 extinguishers for Halon recovery? And, what's the going rate for Halon nowadays?

I don't want to sell them as actual fire extinguishers because they're out of date, if that makes sense. I'd prefer to sell them to a halon recovery service who'll put the halon into currently certified cylinders.

Can't they recover the halon, re-cert the extinguishers, then refill them?

I?m some what of a boutique fire extinguisher collector myself love some vintage c02 or when they used to put forest fire style retardant in human carry sized packages.

I feel that a fair price offered to us hoodlums would move quite fast. Probably for more than a business would give you as they have to make money too.

DF - what would be a fair price among us hoodlum? Something that won't leave the buyer or the seller feel ripped off? It's super expensive stuff, and I don't want to get a bad rep in the trading post, if you know what I mean...

Cobalt - I think these cylinders are too old to recertify, and I have a feeling that transferring my Halon 1211 into new cylinders would be seriously expensive, perhaps hundreds of dollars. These fire services are accustomed to commercial accounts who are not very cost sensitive. I'll call around in the morning anyway, but I suspect that I'll get sticker shock in short order.
