You could also add a NERF boomerang to the lineup for range time to save wear and tear on the rubber one. The NERF one is completely safe for all users - in addition to being used for range practice to keep yourself proficient in boomerang use, many people use them to introduce children to boomerangs. I would stay away from assault boomerangs such as the one the boy uses in "The Road Warrior" - they are expensive, require specialized hand protection, and you will find yourself trying to explain in court why you need something that lethal if you ever need to use it to defend yourself.
