    Default Price Guarantees

    I had a good experience and thought I'd share.

    Many retailers have Price Guarantee policies. This is a great time of year to keep track of stuff you buy because prices change quickly and frequently with the various sales that go on.

    I'm not a gamer but ordered an XBox one X to use as a DVD/Blu-Ray player. Waited for it to go on sale and it did...$349, no tax, free shipping from the Exchange website. Best price I'd seen. I looked this morning and the price had gone down to $299. I checked the website and the Exchange has a 14-day price guarantee policy. A 3 minute phone call got me an immediate $50 refund to my credit card. Definitely worth it.

    Amazon officially doesn't do price guarantees. But if you have prime, in many cases, they do free shipping and free returns, which means I'd return the old one, and order a new one.

    I've tried twice to contact amazon customer service, even informing them that i'd just repurchase and return the old one if they didn't do the price adjustment. And they said that was what they suggest... so their eating the cost of the return shipping, shipping a new one, dealing with a returned item, etc. Sure seems like a dumb policy to me.

    Good to know that the exchange handles it better.

    Yeah. Amazon's estimated 53% are from 3rd party sellers by doing individual or FBA.
    The reseller/small etailer who had the price at 349 gets ass ripped on shipping, return shipping and item return for unfullfillable to them from fulfillment center.
    Amazon really dont lose much.

    This is very reason I do not do electronics or any high return item on Amazon FBA.
