Well I was walking through the store with my 3 year old. I was just finishing up looking at the cool and overpriced stuff and was ready to leave. When my boy passed by a muzzle loader. It fell. I didn't see him touching it but he could have. I don't know for sure.
Well it fell of a gun rack on the floor. It could haven't been that far. But when I came to pick the gun up it had a broken stock. The buttplate was taped up and the guy ran over to see what happened. The gun was marked for $3,500 and since I wanted to make it right he insisted that I pay $1,250 since he got a deal on it. He was the owner and not a very nice guy. But I ended up paying for it with a CC. Its broke and he said I should fix it and resell it. Or claim it on my home owners insurance.
My question is. Don't stores carry insurance against accidents? While I understand that it was my son that got blamed. He was unrelenting in blaming all of us. Just the kind of understanding I have come to expect from this place. The owner is not nice. Last year he called me a goof and not a real gun owner. Well I got a Ruger Red hawk for $550 so I didn't care I am the customer and my money spends at any store. I shouldn't have gone back. But they are close to my house and got good stuff sometimes usually because its overpriced so it doesn't move. But sometimes they have good stuff that reasonably priced, because the owner doesn't care about it. Like a Russian SKS with box for $300. So its worth it sometimes.
What would you do? Since the gun is broke can my CC do anything? Its a John Moyer 39 cal. Muzzle loader with a bunch of brass decorations on it.
