I agree that surveillance video should have been viewed. I?ve been in that store several times and share your opinion of the owner. I have bought a couple guns there, all old military rifles that were displayed on those floors racks. I am shocked that a gun priced at $3500 would be in the floor racks with the rest of chopped up junk (that I like haha). You mentioned there was already tape on the buttstock? I bet that stock was already broken and he was just waiting for some poor customer to knock it over. Sounds like a total con job... he probably paid too much for it and was trying to make up some money. If you ask to see the camera footage and he refuses, you will know with 100% certainty that he ripped you off.
