Good luck and I'll pass on a couple of my favorite mexican restaurants though it's been about 10 years since I was down there last. One of my old partners still lives there (though his health is rapidly deteriorating) as well as some family though I usually hang with my brother and his wife in the Phoenix area on those rare times I go to Arizona. Left in '84 because I just couldn't handle the heat in summer (which lasts about 9 months LOL). Seriously though it can be a beautiful place when the cactus bloom and some of the best sunsets I've ever seen were from Gates Pass.

Tucson/Pima County has always been the major liberal part of Arizona but there were a few really good gunshops then, I think one or two of the ones I frequented are still operating.

Yeah that nice weather in Tucson like the snow twice this month but just as likely 80 degrees. Similar to Colorado.
The big difference is in the summer 110-120- but its a dry heat.
When you get a 3rd degree burn off your seat belt clasp because you grabbed it wrong and opening up all the windows and running the ac on high for 10 minutes while you stand in the sun in that 120 degree heat waiting for the car interior to drop below 500 degrees!

No thank you! I lived there and will never live in that oven again.
For a change I moved from Tucson to Northern Ontario Canada..... that was a major change!

    I wish you well.- heartfelt

I almost forgot about Eegee's. Good place to go for some temporary relief from the heat.

Thanks for sharing, looks refreshing, I'm sure that would be a big hit with the kids.

Grinder sandwich!!!! As a kid there was an Eegee's on Speedway near Craycroft about 10 minutes from our house. Special treat going there on with my dad on a Saturday.

Thanks for all the well wishes! As for the negative folks, it's already a done deal, and it's what is best for my family, this wasn't a "looking for suggestions/opinions" thread. I've dreamt of living in AZ for many years, and love the desert. I grew up on the plains where I had infinite wide open space to explore and get lost in, I've been yearning for that for quite some time now, and am completely over what the Denver metro area has become. Again, thanks for the well wishes.

Not sure if Tucson Arizona is a good choice, bad choice - but dang I can understand looking for a choice.
