That's me as well. I like the pre-Saf-T-Hammer S&Ws. I can't stand the zit on the side of the newer revolvers. I've also had the lock engage during use on my 1st wife's Lady Smith.

Jerry Miculek has a video going over medium frame revolvers and shoots and discusses the older Python and Ruger Speed Six. He discusses why he likes the action of the S&W and how they're so much easier to do a trigger job on since you can see all of the parts interacting with the side plate off.
