From reading what the other owners have said on those other forums the issues seem to be mostly 2:
failure to rotate the cylinder (regardless of ammo used)
battered barrel crowns
In my book not acceptable for a $1500 +- firearm. Perhaps Colt rushed them to market too quickly? Who knows. I hope the returned guns are fixed and that new ones don't exhibit the same problems. Years ago I had a 4" (bought in 1978) and really liked it, was damn accurate but I just prefer Smiths so I sold it back then.
