Default Help getting started with a Dillon 550

    Hey all,

I have had this press for around 4 years or so. I bought it off a friend of mine that started having some serious mess ups with double charges and no charge. He?s getting up there, and very proud so I made him an offer that knew he wouldn?t couldn?t refuse before something bad happened.

I have finally put together all the equipment that?s needed. I took it over to the reloading zone for them to go over it and replace/fix what was needed.

Now I am ready to learn the hows whys and what for. I have read, watched videos but still gun shy after seeing what my friend did or didn?t do. I have Ben told to just start loading and I will learn (teach myself), I would rather see, ask questions and watch someone else on the same machine or mine.

    Thanks
    George

I thought the Reloading Zone has classes?
If the Odds are equal, you're doing it wrong

Spoke with Mike, I was told what I already know is more than he teaches in the class.

I would like to watch and learn from someone with years of knowledge. The only way you get knowledge is from someone teaching you who is seeing what you are doing to show you and stop the mistakes or by doing it (which takes longer and comes with mistakes) I don’t like to gamble with mistakes what can come from not knowing.

    Thanks for the the suggestions.

What caliber are you interested in starting with? If it's a straight walked pistol caliber, just jump in.
