What's the fair value for a Polytech M14S? I've been thinking of selling my Polytech M14S. It's a post ban with blind muzzle device that I had a gunsmith remove the weld on. Importer is IDE if that matters.

Disclaimer: I can't spell.
Depending on what has been done to it, condition and if it has been used somewhere between $300 and $2000. There are currently 2 on gun broker. $525 and $1400
If you look at past sales on the M14forum some have gone for as much ass $4000 in the past.
Is it all stock or have you switched out to a USGI bolt? Any other USGI parts? Ten years ago $800 was the starting price of these. These post import ban days most are getting into the AR-10 game causing values to drop on the expensive to make and maintain M14/M1A clones.
If you have any family in Canada and you can bring one back these are going for $600CN new as the Polytech/Norinco were not banned there and are readily available.

I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
Hard to say. On Armslist asking prices for the Norinco and the Polytech M1A clones are slightly less than the standard SA M1A, usually about $900 or so and the sellers are not willing to budge on the price even though they have been posted for several weeks or months.
I don't know the difference between the two brands. My "feeling" is that if you want to sell a modified rifle, a "sell" price would be in the $650 to $750 range.

I had one a few years back that I tried to offload from time to time. Pre 2013, I couldn't unload it for $900. That pricing is probably a little outdated, but they're solid guns. Polytech doesn't seem to generate the same kind of interest in the M14/M1A crowd as it does with the AK crowd.
